This is the first episode without Lola Glaudini as Elle Greenaway, and the credits reflect that. The clip of her and Hotch at a bomb explosion was altered to remove her from it.
Morley Cigarettes are mentioned. Morley is a fictional brand of cigarettes that has appeared in various television shows, films, and video games that otherwise have no connection to each other. The iconic, fictional brand packaging resembles the original packaging of the Marlboro cigarette brand. The name "Morley" is a play on "Marleys," a nickname for Marlboro cigarettes. Morleys appear at least as far back as 1960 in Psycho (1960). There is also a Morley Lights version, in a gold and white package (similar to Marlboro Lights), marked "Lights."
Jason Beghe (Sheriff Yates) would later go on to star as Sergeant Hank Voight in Chicago P.D. (2014).
Both Kayla Mae Maloney and Tom Schmid guest starred on A Boy in a Tree (2005). Maloney played Camden Destry, a school student, and Schmid played Mr. Pattinson, the father of her classmate.
Jason beghe plays Officer Yates in this episode. In Chicago PD there's a serial killer they are chasing named Yates.
