When being interviewed by the police young Keith Tyler has his mother and lawyer present. When the lawyer makes a remark, Keith shuts him up by saying "Hey Matlock, if I want your advice I'll ask for it".
When talking to teacher McCaskin detective Wheeler refers to the banner in her classroom stating the phrase used in The Dead Poets Society "Carpe Diem-Seize the day". She then tells the teacher "I saw the movie. The teacher used it to inspire his students to read poetry, not to have sex with them!"
