A real Hungarikum!
cekimate21 July 2018
Hungarian Folk Tales was made by the time when hungary was an socialist country. So the Kecskemét film studio needed a concept, but they could not afford a new cartoon storyboard. Then in Marcell Jankovics's mind came up an amazing idea: What if we made a cartoon about Hungarian Folk Tales? And the idea was a big succes in Hungary.

The cartoon itself features a lot of Hungarian symbol. The intro itself is a reference for the Hungarikum logo (i think), and its looks really nice. The cartoon has only 100 episodes, because Kecskemét film studio wanted to end the series with a nice number. It is still watchable by now, even for kids. But the english translate is not as enjoyable, as the Hungarian one, but its alright.

Aesthetically pleasing!
I am so happy I discovered this on YouTube! Hungarian Folk Tales is an animated series. It's colorful, whimsical, intriguing, and has delightful music. This is the perfect ASMR, as the visuals along with the narrator's voice are both so comforting. Some episodes contain nudity (I haven't came across those), but nonetheless I just wanted to put that out there as a warning to parents. Otherwise, as with folk tales in general, they teach various moral lessons. You don't get that with kids' shows nowadays. Even Arthur, a series that I grew up with and enjoyed, has gotten quite dumb and doesn't teach kids anything. Watching this show has made me want to seek out folk tales from other cultures. They're really fascinating. This is an excellent choice for parents who want their kids to be learn something valuable first and be entertained second.

I'am rather recommend the Heltay Gáspár series.

This is a very big pain to me to say,but the concept of these tales adaptation is directly something too strange, after you've seen Heltay Gáspár's tales.I'am hate my self for this ,but in abroad,or in foreign countries,it would be better just to shown Gáspár's adaptations, cause those tales are logical stories.

Most of these tales just loosing logic, but only cause when the basic material was birth, that was entertaining for people can believe everything, cause they did not know what could be true ,or not.

Today when big-budget animation movies trying to be logical and those all for the whole family, and lot of these movies are the member of IMDb-top 250 list.

These type of story, and story-telling are not for my taste,at the moment. This could entertain only children, and just for a while.

Rather recommended: Tales from the Cupboard,or Heltay Gáspár animated story's.
