This was to be the final 'supermarionation' puppet series made by the Andersons and their talented group of dedicated artists.
The puppets in this series are a little-bit different than those from earlier Anderson supermarionation shows. The body-proportions are said to be more lifelike/accurate but this comes at the expense of the available-range of facial-expressions on the puppets.
The opinions of viewers regarding the newer puppets vs the older puppets from previous supermarionation series are rather polarized, with some strong opinions both pro and con.
But,there are only small differences between the old and new puppets so it really is up to the viewer to decide which puppet-series they prefer.
There is really nothing wrong with either the new puppets or the old puppets,so please see what You think.
Overall, the whole Secret Service series/show is yet-another very impressive work by the talented Anderson team in my opinion.
The sets and the models, the puppets, the camera-work,the special effects, all of the wonderful thought and imagination that went into this show and it's production are quite impressive .
There are of course some minor complaints and gripes about the show,(of course it isn't perfect) but remember that it is 'only' a Saturday-morning puppet show, for heaven's sake!
The plot, storyline, and pacing of this exciting show can make even the hardest of viewers forget that it is just a kid's puppet-show !
It is a shame that only 14 episodes of 'Secret Service' were made but soon to come was what to be a much-bigger new TV show called "UFO" by the Anderson team. 9/10.
