Youth focused

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 94 is sadly even less interesting than the episodes which came before. That's because it's focused on the uninteresting youthful characters and their small-time romances rather than the big hitters like Burke or Roger. Victoria continues to explore her past while others fall out and gossip interminably.

Testing the waters of youthful romances.

Warning: Spoilers
One of the good things that writers could do on soap operas in the 1960s since they were not lengthy was try out there young people with various romantic partners. When Carolyn goes out with estranged boyfriend Joe Haskell, she connives to invite Maggie and her father Sam to join them simply to try to upset Maggie and this results in a fight between her and Joe. Joe even slaps her although the slap is well hidden.

Back in Bangor, Victoria is waiting for Burke to finish his business and meets with Frank (Conard Fowkes) when his father shows up to tell him he's needed to complete another case. It's obvious that pops is during Elizabeth's bidding, and a storyline that obviously was not really developed is introduced.

Hugh Franklin and David Ford are the only two mature actors in the episode, completely different as Sam Evans continues to get drunker against his daughter's wishes and Richard Garner is a controlling high-powered attorney quite different from the noble Dr. Charles Tyler. My name is an interesting episode for what it is, but it's more traditional than the gothic themes that the show specialized in.
