When MPI Home Video began releasing the pre-Barnabas episodes of "Dark Shadows" in May 1994, purchasers were treated to the "extra" of having the show's opening slate introduce each episode. These shots of a small blackboard were in-house markers used to identify episodes and take numbers; originally, they were not broadcast. Occasionally, they showed something interesting. Here, we have some extra footage of Roger (Louis Edmonds) in his office. Later on, several of the players took turns holding the slate and smiling for the camera operator. The slate versions were also used for the DVD releases - but MPI did not use slate openings for the DVD reissued post-Barnabas episodes, unfortunately...
Today's episode features some repeating film footage of Roger on the waterfront, and includes a good look at his Collins Cannery office - nothing new, but there is a very good look at the office. Carolyn (Nancy Barrett) arrives to discuss Burke's suspicions about Roger. She ("Kitten") leaves to find Joe and Sheriff Patterson (Dana Elcar) stops by to discuss handyman Matthew's recent attack on Burke. At Collinwood, David (David Henesy) is substituting Vicki's history lesson for a look at Josette Collins in the Collins Family History book. David tells Vicki about a violent fight Roger and Laura had in Augusta, when he was six. Later, Roger cozies up to Vicki while encouraging David to plot against her...
