Low life thug David Slater escapes a sentence for GBH, when the Judge refuses to believe a credible eye witness, Ted Roach is furious, he takes it personally, and vows to send down Slater.
Writer Anthony Valentine, penned a really great story here, Ted has definitely been sidelined for a while, and that's a massive shame, one of the show's best characters. As things are changing though, an old school thief taker like Ted, no longer fits the show, it feels very much like the beginning of the end for him.
I liked the scene where Meadows calls Ted in and roasts him. Ted doesn't have a great track record of getting on with bosses, but the rift between these two is serious.
Neil Stuke was terrific here as David Slater, he really did play the part of the callous thug very well, easy to see why he was cast in Still Game.
Excellent, 9/10.
