- Gabe: [Gabe has been caught check kiting, is up the creek for over $5000, and has asked his mother to bail him out] The overdraft is twenty-three hundred and ninety dollars.
- Laurie: [Gasps, shocked] But all I understood was twenty-eight hundred.
- Gabe: [throwing his hands up in the air] No! I said I owe twenty-eight hundred to Bank of America and twenty-three hundred to TeleCheck!
- Laurie: No, I did not understand that about TeleCheck.
- Gabe: I'm asking you to do this today.
- Laurie: No, I can't.
- [Gabe follows her out to the parking lot]
- Laurie: Forget it. I'm gonna go now.
- Gabe: No, you're not!
- Laurie: Yes, I am.
- Gabe: No, you're not!
- Laurie: I am.
- Gabe: Stop being so stubborn! Stop creating confrontation with me!
- [Laurie enters her vehicle]
- Gabe: [standing outside Laurie's driver's door] Don't drive off! Don't do this!
- Laurie: Just leave me alone.
- Gabe: I said I would...
- [forces his way in over her lap, taking the keys from the ignition]
- Laurie: [Gabe is still keeping the driver's door open] This is really, Gabe... I'm sorry; this is harassment.
- Gabe: [pauses a moment, thinking what to say] Don't use those buzz words with me! That's not harassment! That's not harassment!
- Irv: Gabe is full of delusion, full of denial, full of blame for others, and everything is done to justify what he needed to do, and that is to go and quench that thirst. It's very sad.
- Laurie: What do you think is so terrible that is being asked?
- Gabe: Because you're forcing me to get on a plane tonight, when I don't even have all of my stuff packed, and I don't have any control over anything!
- Irv: If you do not get into treatment...
- [pauses, taking a deep breath]
- Irv: Tomorrow we will call and have them initiate a restraining order against you, and you will go to jail if you violate it.
- Adam: It all comes down to lessons learned. Gabe has learned *nothing*. His parents have learned nothing. Disturbing.
- Gabe: Your threats...are so sickening.
- Irv: Gabriel, I consider that you are a threat to me and your mother.
- Gabe: None of you want to do anything but force me into something, and I hate that about all of you.
- [picks up the cell phone]
- Adam: He's...he's sick, and...he's not gonna get better on his own, because sometimes he doesn't even know that he is in this condition. As a friends and family, we have to step in. We, we have to save him...from himself.
- Gabe: My mom thinks that I'm ungrateful. This is just a drop in the bucket. It is a drop in the bucket, this twenty-eight hundred dollars. Well now what am I gonna do? I'm gonna have to gamble to get the rest of the money, because nobody's giving me the money that I need.
- Gabe: I can't live with these things hanging over my head anymore!
