A fitting tribute to Godard's "Masculin/Feminin," "Fundament" explores the surreal, quirky moments of life. Madeleine must balance tension between her annoyed roommate Karin and boyfriend Paul as they all share a bed for the night. Conversation takes an odd turn to the multiple namings for "butt"(even the title itself suggests a synonym). Greg Carlson once again creates a funny piece that film buffs will especially love. Lighting and camera were spot on thanks to Matt Dreiling. The change to a German poem instead of French and colorful set added a modern added whimsy and a modern punch. Wowee-wow. All that can be said is...awesome.
