The disappearance of Jack Ewing puts J.R. in an embarrassing position and the threat of the impending deal with Marinos could crumble. J.R. promises an angry Angelica he will find out why Jack did not show up for their luncheon meeting.

Jenna tells Jack that she just can't get over Bobby. She doesn't want him to come to see her or call, so he leaves Dallas. Ray and Donna move into Southfork after a water main breaks and floods their house. J.R. tries to smooth things over w/ Mandy, but he doesn't know a/b her dinner w/ Cliff. Cliff hires an investigator to keep an eye on J.R. and Angelica so that he can turn Mandy into an ally. It is revealed that Clayton is having financial trouble, but refuses to ask Ellie for help. Pam opens a package that was sent to Bobby: an uncut emerald from Matt Cantrell. Mark gets Sue Ellen involved as Chief Fundraiser for his medical research facility upon Pam's recommendation. J.R. wants to expedite the procurement of the drilling permits in South America by buying off a government official in Crocus. Angelica's partner, Grace, is recognized by the investigator she briefly worked for to covertly obtain the letter sent to J.R. from his P.I. that was detained in Greece.
