- In his battle with Vince's agent-lover Amanda, who seems to overplay her hand for Arthur Gatoff's 'Bogota' movie, Ari uses the pardon on Yom Kippur and ex-alcoholic Nicky Rubinstein's family. Alas Ari's wife refuses to let him break Sabbath restrictions to help out Nicky. It gets the boys doubt if she sabotages it to keep him in California and counter Ari, so E gets Vince to turn to Ari themselves. Meanwhile Vince has taken the boys to the race track and bets on King's ransom, which loses them one. Yet Drama decided to buy the stallion, although no stud but infertile, and an unruly troublemaker on his hands. There are surprising consequences on both fronts.—KGF Vissers
- Amanda has gifted Vince a bracelet. The guys know that both have feelings for each other.
Ari uses the pardon on Yom Kippur and ex-alcoholic Nicky Rubinstein's (Adam Goldberg) family (Nicky is Paul Rubinstein's son, who is also the producer of Medellin). Ari meets Nicky at the Yom Kippur temple & finds that Medellin is falling apart as Benicio walked (there is a picture of him in US weekly with a blonde bombshell in Antigua). Now Paul is on the way to Columbia, to prevent the rest of the crew from walking. Paul Haggis (the director) is freaked. Nick wants Vince in the movie & begs Ari for a phone call to Vince.
Alas Ari's wife refuses to let him break Sabbath restrictions to help out Nicky. But Ari makes the call anyways. The deal is in play till sundown.
E calls Amanda to meet Ari & Nicky in the back alley behind the temple to lock the deal. Arthur Gatoff (Harris Yulin) is the studio head who owns Medellin. Amanda meets Nicky & Ari & says Vince's quote is $6 M (Nicky thought Vince's quote was $ 3M). Nicky agrees. Amanda wants Arthur Gatoff to sign off on the quote before Vince gets on a plane. Ari & Nicky know this is impossible as Arthur is as orthodox as it gets & wont do business on Yom Kippur. They track Arthur down, who is also annoyed that Vince's quote was $ 3M. He berates Nicky for being wrong on a lot of things on Medellin & refuses to make the business call to Amanda.
Ari plays his last card by calling E & telling him that its basically Amanda who is coming in the way of Vince & Medellin (he pressures E to get Amanda to get the quote down to $ 3M). E interprets that as Amanda trying to keep Vince in California as her Sex buddy.
Vince & E force Amanda to reduce the quote to $3 M & to confirm the same to Ari. But now Ari's wife has confiscated his phones & Nicky / Ari don't return her calls. Amanda tries to convince E that she is acting in Vince's best interests (she doesn't believe that the deadline given by Gatoff means anything), but E is not convinced. The guys think that Amanda is trying to blow the deal since she doesn't want Vince to go away for 6 months.
Vince & E go over to Ari & call Nicky to confirm his quote. By Nicky tells them they are too late, Gatoff has pulled the plug & the movie is gone. Vince & E fire Amanda. Amanda tells Vince that Nicky lost Medellin when he barged into Arthur's temple. Arthur called Amanda after sundown & told him that he loved Vince & would do anything with him, but Medellin was plagued from day 1. Vince feels stupid, and now Amanda walks out on him.
Meanwhile Vince has taken the boys to the racetrack and bets on King's ransom, which loses them one. Yet Drama decided to buy the stallion, although no stud but infertile, and an unruly troublemaker on his hands. They bring the horse home & it bolts. Drama traces it down, but it costs more money for the public damage the horse has done. Drama gives the horse to Eddie Burns as a thank you, and since he has little kids, they love the animal.
