Continuity

(at around 1 min) While Gus and Shawn are driving from the apartment, a large clock in flowers can be seen out of Gus' window. Seconds later the same clock can be seen outside Shawn's window. There is no indication that Gus is driving in a circle.
Shawn says as they leave the first crime scene, " I didn't have anything substantial. What, a steak, a chain on the door, a stain on the carpet?" The stain was shown on a wood floor, not a carpet.
When Lassiter interrogates Rory, Rory's hands are raised to his shoulders when the camera focuses on him, but in his lap when it focuses on Lassiter.

Revealing mistakes

When a forensics investigator is kneeling beside the dead body on the couch, in the first crime scene, the "corpse" is very clearly breathing.
At the end of the episode when Shawn is shown wearing the mood ring, he says it changes from a "orangey yellow to a muddy brown" when the ring is actually blue.
Detective Lassiter unplugs the earphones from an iPod player to prove a point. "Up, Up and Away" is being played for everyone to hear, which is strange since no iPod is attached.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When Shawn and Gus are in the car and they discover Gloria Starks in the newspaper, Shawn gives the paper to Gus to look at. After Gus flips it over, Shawn says, "It's her," but his lips never move.

Errors in geography

(at around 19 mins) Shawn is driving Gus' car after leaving the crime scene (the second suicide with carbon dioxide). A flag pole with the Canadian flag is visible.
At the beginning of the episode, when Shawn and Gus are walking along with the street in the background, one can easily see a Vancouver tour bus drive by them. This is particularly notable because the back of the bus is emblazoned with a Royal Union Flag, the flag of the United Kingdom.

Character error

Shawn repeatedly refers to the cat as "the little boy cat." The cat is calico, a color pattern that occurs only in females. The filmmakers were fully aware the cat was a female, however James Roday Rodriguez (Shawn) thought it would be funnier if the cat was thought to be male.
