The Sun Hill regulars are Policing an FA Cup match, unsuccessfully, as the ever reliable, robust Bob Cryer tried to arrest one of the players, Kevin Huntley, for GBH.
It's a good episode, it poses an interesting question, should assaults on the pitch, or indeed in the background be treated outside of the law, it's interesting, was Cryer doing his job, or going over the top? If those criticising him had seen that happen on the Street, would they have said to ignore it?
A few jokes about being on the transfer list, we get to see Britain's football thugs at their very best, only this time the thugs are the players.
A good sense of atmosphere, it takes me back to the football derby games I remember as a kid, and the violence and thuggery that occured.
It's the arrival of PC Loxton, he would remain in the show for almost a decade.
I'm a big fan of Ian Reddington, great to see him here, looking wonderfully suave, I liked his character.
Liked that, 7/10.
