When William Monahan was awarded the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Departed (2006), the announcer mistakenly states that the film it was adapted from (Infernal Affairs (2002)) was a Japanese film. "Mou gaan dou" was made in Hong Kong.
At one point, Jack Black refers to Peter O'Toole as "English." While O'Toole speaks with an English accent, he is actually Irish.
During the "Comedian at the Oscars" song, Will Ferrell introduces John C. Reilly as Jack Black before correcting himself.
