- Vihang lives a poor lifestyle, works in a private firm, and is in love with wealthy Nilambari, the only daughter of Madan Barve. He meets her parents, who approve of him, but subsequently change their minds when they find out that he has quit his job and wants to focus on singing. They refuse to permit Nilambari to meet with him, and get her married to wealthy Nikhil Adhikari. Three years later Nilambari and Vihang meet again - this time Vihang is a successful and wealthy singer, still very much in love with her, while she is still married to Nikhil. Vihang is invited to visit Nilambari on her birthday on 2nd August, and gives her a unique gift he has been saving for her, and in return, Nilambari prepares to give him a unique gift on his birthday, the very next day on the 3rd of August - a gift that may cause some rift between herself and her husband.—rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)
- Neelambari (Deepa Parab), a college student, falls for a struggling singer, Vihang (Prasad Oak). Vihang being unemployed, cannot marry Neelambari; so her father gets her married off to Nikhil (Subodh Bhave), a wealthy NRI. Neelambari is happy with Nikhil, but she is unable to completely forget her first love. After three successful years of marriage, Neelambari bumps into Vihang, who is now a famous singer. Vihang is still unable to fathom the reason of his beloved betraying him, but is happy to see her living a contented life with Nikhil. It is ironical of Nikhil to befriend Vihang, unaware about his past with Neelambari. Later, Nikhil learns that Neelambari is suffering from an incurable disease and she doesn't have much time. Soon, he learns about Neelambari and Vihang's past together. Realizing that Neelambari doesn't have much time, he decides to let his wife spend few precious moments with her first love. The trio knows that they will be losing the love of their life. The trauma through which the three protagonists suffer forms the crux of the story.
