The first scene shot is the last scene in the movie. Frazier and Gallagher spent nearly four months growing their hair and facial hair for that last scene.
In every scene, Gallagher is on the left side of Frazier. The two filmmakers claim there is no particular reason, they just felt like "going with it."
Originally, the film was to be called "Hollywoodlars" and depicted Lars Holdendridge's rise from guerilla Swiss filmmaking to Hollywood legend. Unfortunately, Michael Robert Kelly had a scheduling conflict (see "There Will Be Blood") and his part had to be cut down to a supporting role.
Nearly four scenes were deleted from the final cut. Both Billy St. John and Michael Robert Kelly had far larger supporting roles but were realized as distractions from the central plot.
