Brad Dourif, Tippi Hedren, and Robert Loggia in The Boneyard Collection (2008)
A quirky anthology, consisting of four separate short films connected by host segments. The first one, BOOGIE WITH THE UNDEAD, has an all girl rock band booked to play a gig in a town overrun by flesh-eating zombies. In the second one, THE DEVIL'S DUE AT MIDNIGHT, a coven of beautiful witches conjure up Brad Dourif as The Devil, and endures the inept attacks of witch killer Ken Foree. In the first long segment, HER MORBID DESIRES, an actress gets the lead role in a vampire movie, only to discover that starlets are being murdered on the set. The other long segment, CRY OF THE MUMMY, has the reincarnated mummy, formerly the last Pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty, looking to sue the movie studios because he can't get work as a mummy. His new lawyer offers to represent him as an agent, but the mummy will only work in film if he can direct.

    • Trivia
This anthology movie is a five year project, in which the crew shot each segment at a pace of one a year. The first segment was "Boogie With the Undead", which was started in 2003 and finished in 2004. The second segment was "The Devil's Due At Midnight" started in the fall of 2004 and finished in 2005. In 2006, the crew waited most of the year for the main host, Forrest J. Ackerman, to recover fully from an operation. He ended up shooting at the end of the year. To finish up the project faster both "Cry of The Mummy" and "Her Morbid Desires" were shot at the same time. It took both years 2007 and 2008 for those to be completed. Thankfully, each segment took about a year, so there were no problems with actors aging, putting on weight, or losing their hair. All parts were then assembled together, making it a full length feature.

Painful to watch; a humiliating embarassment for all involved
How Barbara Steele, Tippi Hedren and Kevin McCarthy ever get roped into this disaster is beyond imagination. About a dozen interchangeable airheaded bimbettes self consciously struggle to get by on cleavage as they mumble, mangle and stumble through a witless, boring script. The various male players are likewise strictly Z-list rejects. None of them have a shred of acting talent or screen presence. Combine this with jittery steady cam videography, dimensionless lighting that only enhances the utter cheapness of the sets, and writing that beggars the expectation of anything approaching coherence, and you have The Boneyard Collection. This movie is execrable. I can only compare the experience of watching it to stepping on a large pile of ripe, fragrant dung while wearing open-toed shoes. This IS the worst movie I have ever seen.
