Summaries

  • Grab your imaginary remote control and join Shane and David as they journey to a place they've never been, and try to find their way through infinite rooms of their fantastical apartment.
  • Set in a fantastical living room with more doors than walls, The Upside Down Show stars The Umbilical Brothers as David and Shane, two brothers who live with their energetic puppet called Puppet, their invisible pet fly Fido, and The Schmuzzies, fluff balls that inhabit the nooks and crannies of their living room. Each episode begins as the brothers hand an imaginary remote control to the viewers at home so they can 'control' the duo's physical motion by fast forwarding, rewinding or pausing their movement. Breaking 'the fourth wall' of the television set, the brothers encourage their audience to participate in their antics and accompany them on their excursions.
  • The Upside Down Show breaks new ground with interactivity, by inviting young viewers to take charge of an imaginary remote control with which to "operate" the brothers, fast-forwarding, rewinding, or pausing them whenever needed. And there are many unexpected "wild card" buttons on this imaginary remote control, like a "rotate button," an "itchy button," and, of course, an "upside down" button. The remote control becomes a fun tool that reinforces new vocabulary and relational concepts as children play along with the show.
