Two marines are shown taking down the American flag before being evacuated. However, when the last helicopter is leaving, the flag is seen flying at the embassy.
While Jack is being questioned about where the children at the Okavango school are hiding he is burned on his left cheek and ear by a hot machete. Later when he is helping Carl evacuate the boys from the school the burn appears on the right side of his face.
