Walking with Prehistoric Beasts (2001)

Goofs

Whale Killer

Walking with Prehistoric Beasts

Edit

Continuity

During the Basilosaurus' attack on the Dorudons, one shot is used two times, although it is mirrored the second time.

Revealing mistakes

When the Andrewsarchus is eating the dead turtle, the pieces of flesh are falling out of its mouth, even though the creature looks like it is swallowing.
There's a couple obvious goofs when the Andrewsarchus kills the turtle:
  • The shell of the turtle bends like soft rubber.
  • The leg of the puppeteer controlling the Andrewsarchus' head can be seen in several instances.
As the Moeritherium browses through the underwater plants, you can only see the head of the animal, as it is an animatronic model. Instead of the rest of its body showing however, a number of cables and wires can be seen hanging from its neck in the water.
As the Andrewsarchus drags the dead Embolotherium calf on the ground, its jaws squeeze the head of the corpse together, revealing it's made of rubber. The model also bounces on the ground unnaturally.
During mating, the two Basilosaurus don't cast a shadow on each other in one shot.

Crew or equipment visible

As the Andrewsarchus lashes forward during its struggle to drag away the brontothere carcass, the torso and shoulder of its puppeteer is plainly visible. He swung the puppet too high, revealing himself.
