- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: Uh, Betty?
- Betty Okanak Templeton: Yes, dear?
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: Was there ever a war in Southwood?
- Betty Okanak Templeton: Oh, years and years ago. But it all started because of some misunderstanding. Wars are terrible things.
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: Mmm-hmm. They sure are. But doesn't anybody get angry here?
- Betty Okanak Templeton: Oh, sure. We get plenty angry sometimes.
- King Friday XIII: And so I declare that you are a delegation to Southwood. You are to perform your duties quickly and return with your news to me. In the meantime, I will see that peace is maintained.
- Bob Dog: This piece?
- [shows the factory part]
- King Friday XIII: No, Bob Dog. The peace of the world.
- Lady Aberlin: That's what we all want, Uncle Friday.
- King Friday XIII: Yes. If you find that Southwood wants no war, than we don't want one either. But they must destroy all of their bombs.
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: If they have any.
- King Friday XIII: Of course. Now, you may leave. You have your lunches, I assume?
- Lady Aberlin: Yes, we do, Uncle Friday. Thank you for them.
- King Friday XIII: Well, soldiers of peace need something to eat just like soldiers of war.
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: Soldiers of peace. Hmm. I like that. I'll bet Betty Okanak will like that, too.
- Lady Aberlin: So do I. Let's go to Southwood.
- King Friday XIII: Farewell!
- Lady Aberlin: Farewell.
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: We'll do our best.
- King Friday XIII: Lady Elaine, Lady Aberlin and Bob Dog, I presume?
- Lady Aberlin, Lady Elaine Fairchilde, Bob Dog: Correct as sometimes, King Friday.
- King Friday XIII: What do you mean, as sometimes?
- Lady Aberlin: Well, Uncle Friday, they're not building bombs in Southwood.
- King Friday XIII: They're not?
- Handyman Negri: So, really?
- King Friday XIII: Oh, well, wait a minute! What are they using those million parts for?
- Bob Dog: They've built a beautiful bridge with them, King Friday.
- King Friday XIII: A bridge? You mean they didn't even make one bomb?
- Lady Aberlin: Not one, Uncle Friday. Now, what do you think of your peace soldiers' report?
- King Friday XIII: I'm shocked. Sadly bewildered am I.
- Lady Aberlin: Why are you?
- King Friday XIII: Because I should've done what you peace soldiers did before I ever trained the generals or built the bombs. I don't know how I could've been so thoughtless.
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: Why, Friday, you're talking like a human being.
- King Friday XIII: But that's what I am, Fairchilde.
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: I know that, and human beings make mistakes once in a while.
- King Friday XIII: I should've listened to you all sooner.
- Lady Aberlin: Later is far better than never, Uncle Friday.
- King Friday XIII: I shall report to the Royal Family that the war is over!
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: It's not over, Friday.
- King Friday XIII: What do you mean, Fairchilde?
- Lady Elaine Fairchilde: It never began. We never had a war!
- King Friday XIII: Oh, so we didn't. My father, and grandfather, and great grandmother will be so proud that we didn't. It's better that way.
- Lady Aberlin, Handyman Negri, Bob Dog: Far, far better.
- Mr. Rogers: I was just thinking. Even games like marbles and block building need rules. If a person threw a marble or a block at another person, that could really hurt. So one rule is no throwing things at other people to hurt them. Rules are very, very important. Not just for games, but for all things. Even big things like countries. Countries have to have rules to protect people, too. And someday, you'll be helping to make the rules for your country. I trust that you'll make the best kind you know how.
