Synopsis

  • Vince may still get a break now that the studio is launching Queens Boulevard commercially (across 1200 screens nationwide). Ari tells Vince that Hollywood Foreign press wants to have an interview with Vince about QB. With Aquaman and QB, Vince will be 2 for 2. Vince agrees with the director Billy Walsh that their re-cut is artistic murder. The movie was originally in Black and White and now the studio has injected color in it. It truly looks ghastly. Billy has decided to slap an injunction on the producer, so that he can stop the commercialization of his artistic output. Billy wants to make sure that the movie never sees the light of day.

Johnny has an Edward Burns pilot audition (the one that Ari got him for the meeting with Vince) but throws a ridiculous tantrum when he gets ticketed for a parking meter offense. He isn't even on time for his audition, as his car was impounded when he was arguing at a coffee shop who was refusing to honor his 10th free coffee card. He finally reaches the audition to find everybody gone. But gets a call from Eddie apologizing for bailing on Drama as he had an emergency & had to fly to NYC. Eddie offers Drama the part for the trouble.

Now Terrance has signed Ari's settlement, Ari sets up his agency. As soon as Terrance finds out about the agency, he decides vindictively to stop payments and litigate regardless of cost. Meanwhile Terrance also gets all his agents to sign a contract that they wouldn't work with Ari. He also fires a few agents, whom he thinks are collaborating with Ari. Rob is one of them, who goes crying to Ari. Barbara (Ari's rival agent) calls for a lunch meeting with him. But when Ari meets her, she takes him to a meeting where all the big agency heads, including Terrance, in LA are meeting. Terrance warns Ari not go after any of their clients, agents or even their mail-room boys or they will collectively come after Ari. At the meeting, Ari admits that he is setting up his own agency & promises not to take any clients or agents from anyone except Terrance. That's when Terrance refuses to stop payments to Ari.

Billy wants Vince to sign the injunction with him. E tries to talk to Ari, but he is in the meeting with Terrance & wouldn't take his calls. So Vince & E go to the studio heads directly to try and talk them out of releasing a color version of QB. The studio heads refuse to listen to Vince. They say that the color version is testing better and will attract a much wider audience base to the movie. So, at the press conference, Vince tells the reporters that the studio ripped out the soul of the original

Just when Ari's prospective agents discover they won't be paid, probably for months, Terrance's ex wife (Barbara) offers Ari a way out. Barbara offers Ari the money to get the agency off the ground, in exchange for 49% partnership.
