Sergeant Elvis:The Missing Years.

Warning: Spoilers
A very good documentary out of the UK. Different from the numerous others, this documentary deals with Elvis Presley's two year hitch in the Army. From the young rock 'n' roll sensation in 1958, to draftee in Memphis, basic training in Texas, serving in Germany and Sergeant Presley returning home in 1960. Plenty of still photos and newsreel footage, some actually pretty rare; including hard to come by interviews while in uniform. The early King of Rock 'n' Roll tamed by Uncle Sam. This is one documentary that you can tell took some time and research and not just slapped together to make a buck. The raw and unpolished Elvis. Even for the non-fan, ELVIS:THE MISSING YEARS holds interest due to the fact it fills in that lesser documented time of the singer's life.

Warning: Spoilers
The film is good with some rare photos and footage. But the Abismal singer is the bit that spoils it. The end seemed hurried, like they rushed through him leaving the army until his untimely death. Then the end. And as a fan, I am aware and know about the drugs. But I don't think, as stated towards the end of the film he was " dependent". On alcohol.
