An excellent look at the glory days of Republic Studios

Warning: Spoilers
This documentary is a wonderful look at the men and women who made Republic Studios the king of the serials. Leonard Maltin hosts this retrospective; and, for once, he doesn't sound as cloying as he does when talking Disney or Looney Tunes. Maltin is obviously a fan and enthuses about the thrills that Republic brought to each Saturday matinée.

The documentary is filled with clips from the greatest of serials, including such favorites as The Masked Marvel, The Adv. of Captain Marvel, Spy Smasher, Zorro's Fighting Legion, the Tiger Woman, the Perils of Nyoka, G-Men vs the Black Dragon, and Daredevlis of the Red Circle. What makes it even more thrilling are the interviews with Republic performers and directors, including Clayton Moore, Linda Stirling, Frank Coughlin, and William Whitney, plus the legendary Gene Autry. Everyone shares some great memories, tell fascinating stories, and deliver a great old time. If you like adventure or film history, this is worth watching.
