Funny end to series one.

Still in hospital after being poisoned by one or Dorothy's gone off ham rolls, Emily receives a visit from a Brigadier, who gives her the order of The Boot, and promptly disappears, Alice fears the worst.

A truly fine end to what's been a thoroughly enjoyable, sweet and funny first episode. Thora Hird is actually absent for most of it, so the laughs generally come from Patsy Rowlands and Rosamund Greenwood.

'A commanding personality.....like Atilla The Hun' what a great line that was, there are quite a few funny one liners here.

Two experienced comedy actors guest star in this episode, namely Michael Aldridge, known for Last of The Summer Wine, and Hilda Fenemore, Perhaps best known for Are you being served.

Such a shame that this is Dorothy's last episode, I thought her sharp and caustic put downs were great, I wonder why Greenwood left, she definitely left a gap.

Cracking end to series one, 8/10.
