Best of Third Year
rickerwk19 July 2014
This is the only episode of the third season that was written by a writer from the first and second seasons. Not only regarded as probably the best episode of the third year, it is also widely rumored that this script was written for the second season. Tom Swale, who wrote this episode, wrote the second season episodes "The Test," and "The Musician." This episode is rumored to have been a script for a trilogy of 'Temple' episodes written for the second season, but not produced, and re-written for the third year. If you look at the story lines from the second season 'temple' episodes, they follow a progression. First is the discovery the temple in "The Test." Second, they enter one side in "The Musician." This episode is also where Cha-Ka advances in intelligence; also playing the flute as in "The Musician." By "Time Stop," The Marshalls were to enter the other side of the temple and find a way out of the land, but they must sacrifice it to save Cha-Ka. Heavily re-written for the third season, inserting Torchy. It is still probably the best episode of the third year. Also notice, when they enter the underground caves, it is the only episode in the third year that has the glowing crystals in the caverns...
