for someone to come out and say this is the worst movie is blind or haven't watched Epic Movie or Date Movie...and are prone to that hip hop garbage they have to throw into these movies to sell a ticket...its repetitive and boring and makes no sense...just because it doesn't do that...people take steamy dungs all over this...this movie was pretty good...and your lack of knowing a good spoof movie would smack you in the face if it could...so please read what you write before posting please...you obviously do not know what you are talking about...im sure you will be first in line to see meet the spartans as it should be called Epic Movie 2...totally and completely ridiculous, you get no stars from me considering your lack of knowing a good spoof movie....try watching Top Secret, Hysterical, Airplane and Airplane 2 then join the league until then keep the comments to a minimal please as you have no idea what you are talking about

Like my headline says, Comebacks was a funny movie. Everything was perfect from a funny persons perspective. It was usually crude humor, using a sex reference for almost everything and anything. If you have seen Epic Movie, you know what I am talking about. Still, you can easily be entertained by this movie. There are no big screen actors, but i also wouldn't think anyone making box office classics to do a parody movie. Its basically just a mash of all your favorite sports movies put together, but stupid and funny. This movie is basically aimed at teens and younger adults, because quite frankly I think they are the only ones who would find the humor even funny. If you are looking for a good laugh, The Comebacks is the movie for you.
This is not a movie for critics, and definitely not as good as "Airplane" but hey-what is? It certainly is a hell of a lot better than "Date Movie" and can easily hold its own against "Scary Movie" or "Hot Shots." Not every joke lands, but there are enough of them to make it worth a look-particularly if you appreciate the idea of satirizing modern sports movies (the spoofs of "Rudy" and "Radio" are especially winning). As a friend of mine said as we were in a movie theatre that showed a preview for "Coach Carter" a few years back, "Wasn't this movie bad enough the last ten times they made it?" I suspect a cult future on DVD.

Yes, everyone loves the Scary Movies and Hot Shots, but spoof films have really gotten out of hand. With disasters like Epic Movie, Date Movie, Superhero Movie, etc, is there really anything left to be spoofed? Sure, I'm a guy who likes stupid comedies with bathroom humor, crotch kicks and all that stuff, but those movies just abuse it. Enter The Comebacks, a stupid, yet entertaining, take on the inspirational sports flick.
David Koechner (best known as Champ Kind from Anchorman) finally gets a well deserved lead role and makes the most of it. Sure, all he does is act like a complete moron, but that's what Koechner does best. He just simply looks like he's having fun being a complete moron. Carl Weathers, a veteran of the Rocky films, lends a small supporting hand. There are some funny cameos by folks such as Dennis Rodman and Frank Caliendo. Some of the films spoofed successfully include Friday Night Lights, Remember the Titans, Rudy, Rocky and Coach Carter. Some sad spoof attempts are made at films such as Radio and Stick It. On the other hand, those who watch ESPN will like seeing sports issues spoofed such as the Duke lacrosse scandal, and Terrell Owens.
So, if you're the type of person who's willing to laugh at stupid things...enjoy! If not, just skip and save everyone the complaining.

The spoof of college football is spot on. Much in the tradition of Saturday Night Live, there is somethng here for everyone.
I watched this film today, from start to finish it was nothing but parodies of making fun of over films like Marky Mark's Invincible, Fright Night Lights, Radio, Field of Dreams, & others. It had its moments, the coach was my favorite thou. I still can't get enough of him from Will Ferrell's "Anchorman". That's where he began his real launch of his career as a mainstream actor in film. If you want something funny, good laughs, just don't expect too much. *Has strong graphic content, not for children* It's an enjoyable parody, not like Scary movie like 1-3, more of "Epic Movie", but not as down-right dimwitted. It had it's moment, just came up in short supply, very short supply to be quite honest. For those who enjoyed Comebacks, then you know it has it's limits, but it's overall not that terrible, even if mainstream, well-re-known critics think it's garbage. That's why they have us, the People of IMDb, to be our own critic! Enjoy!
