Two teenagers go missing at the same time - a black boy and a white girl. The team is faced with the difficult task of finding both teens, which is made incredibly difficult by all the media coverage given to the white teen.

The team simultaneously looks for two missing school teens. The media make a lot of fuss, generating a flood of spontaneous 'tips', about the white girl, who met the wrong people including a lover boy pimp whose debts landed them with a creepy abusive client. Darnell Williams's mother blames Jack for far less attention going to her son, a jock who recently met and started spending time with his terminally sick biological father Franklin Earl Wilson.
