This was the last original episode to air on the WB Television Network.
This is the last time that all seven Camden siblings appear together in a single episode.
When this was thought to be the series finale, Brenda Hampton begged Jessica Biel to reprise her role of Mary Camden. Biel had a commitment to the film Next (2007), but at the very last minute she had a few days free from filming, so Hampton rewrote the episode to physically include Mary in the story--her scenes were even shot last, then spliced in. Originally, Carlos was talking to Mary on his cell phone with nobody on the other end, but the added footage presents Mary's side of the conversation--Jessica's 11th-hour appearance on the finale-that-wasn't-quite-the-finale.
This is the last episode in which David Gallagher (Simon), Barry Watson (Matt), and Jessica Biel (Mary) appear.
Since at the time of filming, this was thought to be the final episode of the series, they incorporated a small joke into the episode. At the reception towards the end, a lady sings a song that the characters all dance to. During the credits, the lady's character is named "Fat Lady". Therefore, this would've made the saying, "It's not over until the fat lady sings", perfect for the episode. But the show was later picked up for one more season.
