Storyline
Plot Summary |
Paris in 1943. Joseph, a Jewish man, looks out of his window and sees a Gestapo agent, accompanied by a Wehrmacht officer, getting out of a Traction-avant and heading towards his building. He understands: he is about to be arrested. He wakes up his 12-year-old daughter, Suzanne, and tells her that she must not say anything. At the time of his arrest, Joseph pretends that the girl is not his, that she is staying there with the landlady. As if in a dream, Suzanne confirms this version. Without a tear, she sees her father leave and never return. The pain will come only later: her father has saved her life. Written by Guy Bellinger |

Quotes |
Suzanne Wiznitzer à 75 ans:
I remember my father. He was calm, peaceful. He didn't look at me. As if I should not exist anymore... I had the impression that he was shouting in my ears: "Shut up! Shut up! Don't say anything!" And I was silent, I was silent, I said nothing. [...] Suzanne Wiznitzer à 75 ans: Those moments, I lived them as if my father had put me under hypnosis. I was not afraid. I did not feel any grief. He didn't look back once. He had saved my life. See more » |
