Like the previous episode of "The Cousteau Odyssey", this second part doesn't feature the usual expected scuba diving. This is because the Nile is too cloudy for decent diving and so the show focuses much more on the land, the river as well as changes and threats to each...such as recent dams. In particular, environmental damage to the land and water as well as overpopulation are major themes in this show.
While this is not a pretty episode full of fish, it's a good one because it explores mankind's impact on the Nile...both good and bad...but mostly bad. Well worth seeing.... I would love to know of the river's health today. Has it improved or gotten worse?
Like many episodes of the various Cousteau shows, you can find them on YouTube. Most of them are rather faded and they sure could use conservation. I am not sure if DVD/BluRay versions look better or not.
