- A new TV show turns everyone in Retroville into mindless and exceedingly cheerful zombies./To impress Betty Quinlin, Jimmy performs a magic show using a cheap magic kit that's full of his own technological upgrades.
- One of Us Jimmy asks Libby where Cindy is. She says Cindy is at a karate convention for a couple of days. Carl comes and says that Sheen is acting pretty weird. Just then, Sheen comes along with an eerily blank smile on his face and asks if it's a happy day. He says that he watched a show called "The Happy Show Show" and that it's in channel three hundred and fifty-seven and that it will make him "happy". Sheen then walks away. Instead of watching the show, Jimmy does things on his computer, including looking at images of his crush Betty Quinlan, until Sheen keeps bothering him to watch the show by saying "You could watch it the next day... or the next day... or maybe the next day!".
Jimmy keeps ignoring Sheen and finds himself at the Candy Bar, where Carl comes up to him and asks if he watched "The Happy Show Show" last night. Jimmy doesn't answer and he sees Libby turn off some music, which is extremely unlike her. She asks him the same question and Jimmy looks and sees Butch and Bolbi being friendly to each other, another unheard-of occurrence and everyone is acting creepy and strange with eerily blank smiles.
Betty also tells him he should watch the show, and so he decides to. That night he turns to the channel to find a show made by a woman named "Grandma Taters". He watches only the first 10 seconds and turns the show off and hates it. He goes to school the next day and all the kids start to insist that he watch the show again, displaying increasingly alarming behavior.
After arguing long enough, Betty says that he could watch it with her at her house, which convinces Jimmy to give it a second try. Jimmy goes over to Betty's and stops outside. He happens to look through the window and see the show on a mirror. As he watches the show via the mirror, the plot thickens as he sees the show using hypnosis to turn everyone watching it (currently Retroville but soon the entire world) into mindless happy zombies. Jimmy is shocked to see this and that Betty is a bit unhinged as a result Jimmy leaves her house screaming. Jimmy runs home to find out that Judy and Hugh are under the spell too. He runs into town and is surrounded by hypnotized citizens.
Jimmy runs into Cindy, who had just returned from her karate convention. Cindy says she's sad that she has lost at the karate competition, but Jimmy is glad that she's not "happy". Cindy misunderstands this, but he tries to explain what has happened as they fortunately are able to escape. Though she listened, what Cindy got the most out of the conversation is that Jimmy had gone over to Betty's house.
After Jimmy finds where Grandma Taters is, Cindy asks what he was doing at Betty's house and Jimmy lies by saying it was for research. They head for Grandma Taters' house to stop her worldwide broadcast. After confronting the woman, Jimmy's friends capture him and tie him to a chair so that Taters can broadcast. Cindy enters, seemingly hypnotized but soon reveals that it's a ploy as she fights the zombies and Taters.
With Taters and the zombies subdued, Jimmy dresses as Grandma Taters and restores their minds. Jimmy tells Taters that even though she meant well, she shouldn't mess with people's minds. She agrees that it was a bad idea, but then a UFO lands and three copies of Taters come out to greet her. She leaves with them, but not before ominously saying "We'll be back!" while showing her true eyes out from under her glasses. After this, Cindy once again asked what Jimmy was doing at Betty's house after which they argue about it.
Vanishing Act At the beginning of the episode, Jimmy receives a package containing "The Great Spamdini Magic Set", but it all falls apart. Jimmy then figures out that he was ripped off. Carl reads from a book contained in the set that the Great Spamdini disappeared under mysterious circumstances. After that, Sheen asks Jimmy why he is he suddenly into magic, and Carl thinks Jimmy is doing it just because he's trying to impress Betty. Jimmy denies this, but to prove his point, Carl ordered Goddard to show a clip that Jimmy was trying to impress Betty, putting Jimmy in humiliation.
Later on, Jimmy begins his magic act. Betty finds a note on the front row seat saying Reserved for Betty, along with a rose. Jimmy takes Betty up as a volunteer in the Metamorphosis Box. Cindy sabotages the act, due to being upset that Jimmy likes Betty instead of her. This causes Sheen, Carl, Cindy, Jimmy and Betty to be lost in another dimension, which leaves Libby in charge on entertaining the audience.
Later, Jimmy is floating in a parallel dimension along with a door and an eyeball watching him. Then, he accidentally went through a gigantic toilet's hole and passed out. When he woke up, Jimmy sees Betty in his eyes, but only her face because Cindy, Sheen, Betty and Carl are now disembodied floating heads and have lost their bodies. Then they see a portal, which everyone mistook as a painting of a desert scene. They teleport there to find their bodies, and they reattach their heads into their bodies the right ways, (except Sheen, who puts his head on backwards). Carl then finds an arm that doesn't belong to any of them, and it starts chasing them. When they run into another door, they turn green and "look like math homework". While there, Cindy blames everything on Betty and Jimmy. Betty then breaks it up and talks to Cindy in private, revealing that she knows about Cindy's crush on Jimmy and tells her that she can have him.
At that point, the arm finds them, and they jump off a ledge into a house with nowhere to go, but the Great Spamdini appears from the shadows and re-attaches his arm (it was his arm that had been chasing the kids the whole time).
Later, he shows the kids a place where a tuna fish sandwich appears every day. When Jimmy picks up the sandwich, a nearby wall opens up revealing a portal. The portal disappears, though, and is replaced by dozens of portals. They all look into the portals and try to find the correct one. They then find it when they hear Ms. Fowl's voice. Everyone then goes back to Retroville (except Spamdini, who goes into the portal to a land made entirely of pastrami) and everyone cheers for Sheen's head being backwards.
