  Lois Lane : Thank you.

  Martha Kent : The Chief of Staff for a state senator needs to be fully informed on all sides of the issues.

  Lois Lane : Wait a minute. You want me to be your Chief of Staff?

  Clark Kent : Mom, uh... are you sure you don't wanna think this through?

• Clark Kent : Hey, Maddie, what you drawing?

  [no response from Maddie] 

  Clark Kent : You're quite the artist, aren't you?

  [still no response] 

  Clark Kent : You know, I'm an artist too. What, you don't believe me? All right, well, I'll just have to prove it to you then. Now, prepare yourself, because this is gonna be a self-portrait. You might not be able to tell the difference between this and an actual photograph.

  [shows Maddie his drawing of himself, which proves to be only a line drawing, comparing it to himself to get a reaction. Clark smiles, and Maddie finally smiles back, carefully]
