Very good...and perhaps this is something we should all remember.

This is an episode of "The American Experience"--a very good PBS show that features a variety of topics relating to American and world history. In this installment, the show goes back to 1970--when four separate planes were all hijacked on the same day by Palestinian terrorists. This is fascinating because in many ways this is similar to the later famed attacks on 9/11--making you wonder why people hadn't learned the lessons they needed to learn 31 years earlier.

The show consists of many interviews with people involved--such as victims, the actual terrorists and journalists covering the event. It also features film footage of the day and interviews with a few others involved--such as an executive from the Red Cross. Together, they tell a fascinating picture of the events. My only misgiving is that an analysis of the reaction of the countries of the world really isn't given. In other words, their reactions to the terrorists--was it right or wrong looking back at it today? And, what are the repercussions of these tragic events? So, while a good show, the context is missing and discussing the events leading to and following would have been appreciated.
