Ferriday is quite right. The Stalinist who produced the first two skewed reviews needs to be ignored. Having lived for over a decade in Russia and spoken with and heard what Stalin really did get up to, the full extent of the horror came out in the late 90s but now has gone underground again.
The man was more than a megalomaniac - he was truly evil and thought nothing of wiping out the entire intelligentsia of the time which he saw as a threat, his aggression towards Germany was equal to that of Hitler and it was a case of who struck first. In this, Stalin had no compunction in calling up numbers to the front line, e.g. Stalingrad - there were plenty more where they came from.
The man was a monster.
