Cathy Lane: Alright, let's figure out the kind of girl that would be least likely to appeal to him. He's a long-haired musician.
Richard Harrison: A long-haired musician. Well then, Patty can act herself.
Patty Lane: Well, we really gotta make him head for the hills.
Cathy Lane: He probably likes someone who's scholarly, likes serious books, art, the theater, the classics. All you have to do is be opposite.
Patty Lane: That's not hard. That's the real me.
Cathy Lane: Alright, let's rehearse it. You really have to frighten him away tomorrow night. Richard, you be David.
Richard Harrison: David, huh? I don't even like his name.
Cathy Lane: I'll be your mother.
[Pretending to be Patty's mother]
Cathy Lane: Good evening, David, it's so nice of you to come. This is my daughter Patty.
[Introducing the two]
Cathy Lane: Patty, David.
Richard Harrison: I'm very happy to make your acquaintance. I heard a great deal about you.
Patty Lane: Duhhuh.
Cathy Lane: Tell me, have you read any good books lately, David?
Richard Harrison: Oh, yes indeed. I just finished reading 'The Odyssey'.
Patty Lane: I read the sequel: 'The Evenssey'
[feigns laughter and smacks Richard in the stomach]
Patty Lane: Ha Ha Ha, get it. Cathy, pretty good, huh?
Richard Harrison: Have you seen any good plays lately?
Patty Lane: Yeah, Gonzales tagged Mickey Mantle out in the top of the ninth with bases loaded.
[feigns laughter and smacks Richard again]
Patty Lane: Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha.
Richard Harrison: This is a rehearsal, Patty.
Patty Lane: Oh.
Cathy Lane: Tell me, ah, are you fond of Gluck?
Patty Lane: Only if it has a lot of cream and sugar on it.
Cathy Lane: That should frighten him away.
Patty Lane: [Starts to smack Richard again, but checks her swing, laughting] I can't wait till tomorrow night.
