The Offroaders - Paintball sketch parodies the famous ending of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969). Simon and Lindsay are seen in a little hut loading up their paintball guns. Simon asks Lindsay if he saw the opposing paintball team outside the hut, which Lindsay says "No" and Simon says "Good. For a moment there I thought we might be in trouble". Simon and Lindsay exit the hut and in slow motion, they open fire. It ends in a freeze frame. A man is heard shouting "Wankers!" and gunshots are heard and it changes from color to black and white.
The Cute Disabled Man sketch is a parody of Forrest Gump (1994).
The music track that is heard in the Offroaders - paintball sketch is "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber, which was the theme music of the war film Platoon (1986).
In The Offroaders - paintball sketch, Lindsay (Paul Whitehouse) quotes "We are going for maximum splat. Splattus Maximus". Four years later, Russell Crowe starred in the Oscar winning Roman epic Gladiator (2000) as General Maximus Decimus Merridus, a betrayed Roman general whom becomes a gladiator, after his family are murdered by Emperor Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix).
