Warning: Spoilers
Pizza Delivery- Mr. Krabs finds out that a customer would pay money if there was a "Krusty Krab Pizza" delivered to their house. Immediately, Mr. Krabs forces an overjoyed SpongeBob and a reluctant Squidward to delivery a "pizza." However, the simple delivery becomes more than they bargained for when they in the middle of a desert, natural disasters and a starving Squidward tries his best to trick SpongeBob into eating the pizza with him, but there's no way SpongeBob will give in. This episode is hilarious. SpongeBob's ideas of what the pioneers did-and Squidward's reactions to them-are the best parts of the whole episode.

Home Sweet Pineapple-There was a recent episode with a similar plot and title, so I wanted to compare them. Here's the review for the season 1 episode. A wave of nematodes come to Bikinni Bottom in the middle of the night, eating everything they can get to, including SpongeBob's house. SpongeBob is now homeless, but Patrick suggests to build a new house. Hilarious mistake ensues. When that fails, SpongeBob and Patrick decide to spend the night together. Hilarious mistake ensues. When that fails, SpongeBob, half-desperate, decides to spend the night with Squidward. Again, hilarious mistake ensues. SpongeBob comes up with his most dreadful decision: he has to leave Bikinni Bottom and stay with his parents. Squidward is happy, but he's the only one. This is very well done. It's hilarious and a little emotional. These two episodes are two of the best of the series.

This is a nice couple of shorts although it doesn't include any memorable side characters like Plankton or Mrs Puff from the last couple of episodes.

Pizza Delivery - 8

Home Sweet Pineapple - 8 or 9

Overall - 8

Pizza delivery is just a nice little adventure shared by SB and Squidward. My favourite part is the obnoxious customer at the end who devastates SB by accusing him of poor customer service for forgetting his drink. This is the cruelest thing you could ever say to SB, especially after what he went through to deliver that pizza.

Home Sweet Pineapple is a little sad with SB losing his home. Sharing Patrick's rock and SB being subjected to inflation via Patrick's excessive saliva was absolutely disgusting. Patrick is such a slobbish buffoon. We get to meet SB's weird old shrivelled parents who apparently don't live in Bikini Bottom.

Episode 5: Pizza Delivery/Home Sweet Pineapple

Warning: Spoilers
So far, this is the best episode of SpongeBob.

"Pizza Delivery" This episode was hilarious. I think it's kind of a parody of when McDonald's used to serve pizza, only this is hilarious. The hitchhiking scene is brilliant and "The Krusty Krab Pizza Song" will be stuck in your head for days! I guarantee it! 10/10

"Home Sweet Pineapple" A superb episode. Nematodes eat SpongeBob's house and SpongeBob looks for a place to live. The montage where SpongeBob and Patrick build a house is the best part of the episode and I also love the part (spoilers) where SpongeBob is sleeping at Patrick's rock and Patrick hits him with it. 9/10

The Krusty Krab Pizza is the pizza for you and me!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm not sure how controversial this is but I actually preferred Home Sweet Pineapple over Pizza Delivery, even though they're both FANTASTIC episodes.

Pizza Delivery - Hilarious the whole way through with a really wholesome ending. I really like these heart-warming SpongeBob moments. 9/10

Home Sweet Pineapple - This episode is also hilarious the whole way through, and there's just something about the nematodes that cracks me up. Patrick beating up SpongeBob with his rock in his sleep is absolutely great. 10/10.

From delivering pizzas to...nearly losing your house

Warning: Spoilers
Pizza Delivery - An undisputed classic. Spongebob and Squidward are being tasked with delivering a pizza despite 1) not delivering, 2) not making pizza. Things quickly get out of hand when Spongebob and Squidward's chemistry make each other's lives harder. What hasn't been said already? It's funny, it's quotable, it has a great ending that cements Squidward's character well, and overall it does almost everything right. Go see it! (10/10)

Home Sweet Pineapple - Bittersweet but still plenty of fun. When Spongebob's house gets destroyed by nematodes, Spongebob tries everything to make sure he doesn't have to move back in with his parents. Patrick is absolutely a highlight in this episode, whether it be actually trying to be a good friend or having nightmares about- "SPIIIDERS!!!" ...that. It's a solid episode that while usually funny, knows when to be serious by this show's standards, and has a satisfying conclusion. (8/10)

Overall - While one of these two is clearly better than the other, both are able to stand on their own and be perfectly established as classic Spongebob episodes.

Score: 10 + 8 = 18/20 -> 9/10 Would highly recommend.

I see why people like it/just hilarious execution of a good concept

Warning: Spoilers
Pizza Delivery is mostly just a normal Spongebob episode in my eyes, but I see what people like about its ending. Squidward getting justice for Spongebob is a little touching, and hits home for anyone in the service industry. 4/5.

Home Sweet Pinapple wa a hilarious through and through, and has some great concepts. 4/5.

This episode is comical, and shows who spongebobs parents really are. Pineapples also are really grown from the ground.

Pizza Delivery

I think what this episode shows the most is what's missing from the later seasons. Squidward doesn't necessarily hate SpongeBob, he just doesn't like how childish he his. All the little details from Squidward trying to guide SpongeBob to outright saving his life from the trucker, really shows that Squidward doesn't hate him, he actually likes him, and only wishes for him to grow up, something the later season writing staff just don't understand. The ending is spectacular as well. I know it may sound a bit cringe. But that scene alone is one of the reasons why the earlier seasons are so gold. Every character is dynamic, SpongeBob may be childish, but at times, he is mature, and also shows a high level of intelligence. Squidward is not a bad person, he's just miserable and hates the idea of letting go and having childish fun, and the moments he actually does indulge in the childishness are the happiest moments he has. What I'm trying to get at is Squidward and SpongeBob's dichotomy is what made the earlier seasons so great.

Enjoyable antics from everyone's favorite sponge
aspieducklover-023048 February 2023
These two episodes are enjoyable and funny, though nothing superb.

Pizza delivery (7) Pizza delivery has some great character interactions and an oddly wholesome moment from Squidward of all characters, plus the antics of the two are charming and humorous. It's a well paced and entertaining concept though it's never anything above very good.

Home sweet pineapple (7) Home sweet pineapple mixes jokes with a simple yet accomodating story to a good effect. Seeing Spongebob try to adapt to a sudden change leads to some very good animated gags even if they're rather predictable and never above a chuckle. Squidward being a horrible person is certainly the episode's highlight, as it portrays him as a jerk without making him too unlikable.

I'm not a huge fan of the episode, but that's not to say it isn't enjoyable throughout.
