- When the power goes out during a blizzard, Amy must put up with the Barones until the storm is over.
- Ray, Debra, Robert and Amy (Monica Horan) are stuck with Marie and Frank when a snowstorm blows in. Amy has broken up with Gianni and was supposed to drive Ray and Debra for their romantic weekend away. The kids are away with Lois.
Amy walks in having walked 20 blocks in a snowstorm, when she had to abandon her car in a 50-foot snowdrift. She heard on the radio, before the car battery died that the snowstorm closed the airport. The walk ruined Amy's new shoes and she got frostbite on her Pinky toe. The trio head to Marie and Frank as Debra hasn't cooked any food and the power has also gone away. Marie is thrilled to know that Amy had broken up with Gianni and pushes Robert to get closer to Amy. The Barones start reminiscing their first parties and Ray and Robert start showing off their dance moves. Frank gets in on the act and dances with Marie, and then with Amy and finally Debra.
They all have a great time dancing, until Debra says to Frank, "I can't believe I'm actually having a good time with you". Debra makes it worse by saying that on a night like this, one would be looking for the escape hatch. He gets upset and walks away. When she tries to apologize, Marie points out that Debra thinks she is better than the Barones. Marie says that she has always been aware of Debra's sense of superiority and now she made it very obvious. Debra grew up in an upper-class family, went to a private school, a fancy college, and that's not what the Barones are at all. Robert didn't even go to college.
Debra denies it, but Ray points out all the crazy things his family does. Frank is disgusting and a world class baboon. Robert is weird, he is afraid of busboys (and hence doesn't eat outside), he doesn't like his dollar bills facing each other's as that would be like kissing, has a weird separating system for undies called good, plenty's and cuties. Marie is judgmental, childish, meddlesome, and a Buttinsky. Ray is a sloth and doesn't help around the house at all. Ray reminds her that just a week ago, Ray was supposed to be baby-sitting, but when Debra came home, she found Ray asleep in front of the TV and with sauce running down his front. Ray wasn't wearing a shirt and wasn't eating pizza. Ray also reminds Debra that he is quite disgusting about sex. So, Ray insists that Debra has enough and more reasons to feel that she is better than the Barone family and superior to them in every way.
She finally, out of sheer frustration agrees with him (Debra says that she was never sure, but all the points put forward by Ray are true and thanks them all for making it crystal clear), and goes to apologize to Frank. Frank says he was disappointed as he always felt that it was him and her against all of the other loonies in the house. In the end, they all make up and dance.
