- After wishing for Flanders to lose his business, Homer discovers that his neighbor is actually about to go bankrupt and decides to help him out.
- At a family barbecue, Ned announces his intention to open The Leftorium, a store catering for left-handed customers. Homer, ever jealous of his neighbor, hopes it will fail - and indeed it does, getting to the point where Ned has to sell many of his possessions and his house seems likely to be repossessed. Feeling guilty, Homer comes to Ned's rescue by pointing all the left-handed people he knows in the store's direction and thus saving it. Bart, meanwhile, pays the price for going to the video arcade when he should be at self-defense classes.—don @ minifie-1
- Ned Flanders opens the Leftorium, a store specializing in merchandise for left-handed people. Homer thinks it's a stupid idea and secretly wishes for the store to fail and Ned to be humiliated. Homer's wish comes true when business is very slow, and Ned is facing financial ruin and the loss of his house.
- Ned Flanders throws a barbeque and invites the Simpsons over. Though Homer refuses to go at first, the aroma of Flander's preparations soon gets the better of him. After everyone has eaten, Flanders makes a shocking announcement: He is quitting his old job to start his own business dedicated to people who are left-handed (like himself). Ned plans to open the store at the Springfield Mall, calling it 'The Leftorium.'
Homer seems hardly thrilled about the whole thing, when Maude gives him and Ned the wishbone from a turkey they've eaten, and says that the two should each make a wish and break it. Homer deems this stupid, but Ned tells Homer that there must be something he wants. Mentally, Homer wishes for Ned to go broke, and his 'stupid left-handed store' to eventually close down. The two then break the wishbone, and Homer joyfully gloats over getting the bigger piece.
Eventually, Ned's store opens, but business does not come. Ned even ends up selling some of his home's furniture to make ends meet, but in the end, the store closes, and Ned prepares to move his family to a relations place in Capital City.
Homer soon feels remorse, and calls up everyone he knows who is left-handed, and demands Ned re-open his store. Homer ends up saving Flander's business, and they all sing 'Put on a Happy Face.'
