Mike and Gloria are headed camping for close to a week, which will leave Archie and Edith alone for that time span, much to Archie's delight and Edith's worry, because she heard that couples can fall apart after the kids leave the house, and she heard this from Dr. Joyce Brothers, naturally. The acting was in fine form, but I expected more meat from this story other than Archie's ramblings that they take time to chill out, and Edith's lamenting that he said she's "not human", and proceeds to cry and ignore him for most of the duration. It did have potential for a typical solid episode, but there aren't that many laughs along the way; for instance, Archie and Edith dance to a record, then soon after, he's telling her how he could've been a major league pitcher if he only graduated high school. It had more of a serious tone, and even though I enjoy those serious moments with solid acting, I felt this segment was too mushy, especially with Edith's pouting. The final scenes has Archie basically saying he's sorry for calling his wife names, and Mike and Gloria come home and catch the couple kissing, which has Mike utter, "Ah, geez, they're at it again" to an angry Archie. Like I said above, there aren't many funny moments in this episode, even though the acting is solid.
