When the army requests a rider to deliver a most important dispatch to the Assistant
Secretary of War at an army post, Anthony Zerbe dispatches Stephen Baldwim
for the job. The future Buffalo Bill has quite the odyssey.
It includes some army personnel trying to steal the dispatch and they do it twice. Baldwin also frees a pet bear from a trap and makes a valuable friend.
Most importantly Baldwin gets a little something going with a prairie widow played by Melissa Foster. The life of a Pony Express rider did have its moments.
