Al Attles, who is mentioned by Jackie Solomon in his talk with Coolidge, played 12 seasons in the NBA with the Philadelphia/San Francisco (now Golden State) Warriors from 1960 to 1971 with career averages of 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He was the Warriors' second leading scorer the night his teammate Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points with 17 points on 8 for 8 shooting and 1 for 1 on free throws. After his playing career ended, he joined the Warriors as an assistant coach in 1968 and became their head coach in 1970. He coached the Warriors to the NBA championship in 1975.
