Steve Blum: J.T. Page, Steve Powell

Quotes

  • [the gang are on the field and Scooby spots the team mascot; assuming it's an actual bear]

    Scooby-Doo : Grizzly bear! Grrrrr!

[Scooby takes off after the mascot]

Fred : No, Scooby! That's just Mr. Grizz, the team mascot!

[Scooby plays tug o war with Mr. Grizz's tail]

    J. T. Page : [inside the costume]  Hey; let go, ya mutt!

[Fred manages to pull Scooby away from Mr. Grizz sending the mascot flying towards the pitcher's mound; Velma and Daphne unmask him]

Shaggy : [chuckles]  Like, usually it takes a lot longer before we're unmasking people!

    Scooby-Doo : Hee-hee-hee-hee! Sorry.

Velma Dinkley : Hey, aren't you J.T. Paige? I thought you were a pitcher on this team.

    J. T. Page : Yeah, I was. But then I got cut.

Daphne Blake : I remember that. Didn't you throw a burrito at someone in the stands?

    J. T. Page : Not exactly my finest hour. They told me the only way I could still be with the club is if I became the new mascot, Mr. Grizz.

Fred : Cool! My name's Fred Jones. I won the "meet Luis Santiago contest". So we're here to meet Luis Santiago.

    J. T. Page : [points to Luis being interviewed by Bob Taylor]  Yeah, he's right over there.

Bob Taylor : [interviewing Luis]  Well, it's been a tough couple of weeks for you. Any thoughts on how to break outta this drought you're in?

Luis Santiago : Umm... well, Bob; uh, you used to play. You know what it's like. It's just a little slump. I'll come outta it. I'm sure.

[Bob leaves as Mystery Inc. show up]

Fred : Excuse me, Luis. I'm Fred Jones, the contest winner.

Luis Santiago : [sees Scooby, Shaggy and the girls]  Well, Fred. I see you brought some friends with you.

Fred : Uh-huh. This is Velma, Daphne and Shaggy.

    Scooby-Doo : And Scooby-Doo!

Luis Santiago : Nice to meet you all!

Fred : So, remember that game against San Jose when 5-8 in extra innings; and won the game with a walk-off home run?

    Luis Santiago : Yeah.

Fred : That was so cool! And remember the time you were down three runs to Portland in the bottom of the ninth?

[as Fred talks with Luis about his career; Shaggy, Scooby and the girls leave]
