I agree with the other reviewer that the performances are phoned in especially the scene where Elizabeth tells everyone she leaving for her date and will be out late. Aside from her the actors portraying Erin, Mary-Ellen & Jason are so wooden in this scene.
Aside from that, is it really any wonder why Ike would consider cheating ? From day one Corabeth did not like him, did not want to marry him but still did. I think they both married out of lonliness and stayed together because their relationship is strictly co-dependent.
Corabeth rarely ever addressed Ike as Ike.
Corabeth put on heirs and constantly put down simple country living.
Whenever a handsome man (including the pastors) showed up she would hope to attract. She herself "cheated". So this episode rankles me to no end.
A better ending would've been an end to their marriage of convenience.
