Ugh why did this marriage last ?
mattsnyder19703 October 2023
I agree with the other reviewer that the performances are phoned in especially the scene where Elizabeth tells everyone she leaving for her date and will be out late. Aside from her the actors portraying Erin, Mary-Ellen & Jason are so wooden in this scene.

Aside from that, is it really any wonder why Ike would consider cheating ? From day one Corabeth did not like him, did not want to marry him but still did. I think they both married out of lonliness and stayed together because their relationship is strictly co-dependent.

Corabeth rarely ever addressed Ike as Ike.

Corabeth put on heirs and constantly put down simple country living.

Whenever a handsome man (including the pastors) showed up she would hope to attract. She herself "cheated". So this episode rankles me to no end.

A better ending would've been an end to their marriage of convenience.

Corabeth Leaves Yet Again

Warning: Spoilers
Okay so I believe we've seen this before Corabeth leaving Ike again this time she lands at the Walton house. I guess they didn't have any new stories to tell so decided to have Corabeth leave again.

I always wondered how Corabeth could find all those fashions and look like she stepped out of Vanity Fair. Compared to the others she's so out of place. Ike must make a lot of money for her to have such a wardrobe and to get himself all those stylish clothes. The Ike and Corabeth marriage woes are just plain dull and repetitive but that mustache is dreadful.

Anyway I always thought Elizabeth was the most unattractive but when she's dressed in the blue dress and pearls with her hair all flounced she looked quite pretty. The whole part about them spending the night together was totally not going to happen, not with the Walton code of conduct.

Seems like the Walton kids are just phoning it in and after 9 long years it isn't worth watching. I just happened to watch this one. Where were Rose's grandkids and MaryEllen's kid. I see why Olivia and John left but why keep it going? This was pretty awful but the last episode when the faux John Boy becomes a drunk is the worst.
