The Waltons (1972)

Goofs

The Foundling

The Waltons

Edit

Continuity

As Holly's mother watches the children playing outside whilst hidden in the trees, when shown from behind she is wearing a beige cardigan. When the shot changes to a front view, the cardigan has gone.

Factual errors

The episode is set in 1933, and yet the family is seen listening to "The Edgar Bergen-Charlie McCarthy Show" which didn't debut until 1937.

Miscellaneous

When Anson tries to finger spell Holly's name, he holds two fingers up to represent the letter "h". However, the American Sign Language "h" would show two fingers pointing forward. The letter "u" would show two fingers pointing up. This would be confusing for one who reads ASL finger spelling.
Olivia is winding yarn into a ball and the yarn goes from being wrapped around Mary Ellen's wrists to being a tangled mess in her hands .

Character error

Elizabeth runs off and signs to Holly to go back. How can she sign when she doesn't know her letters yet or how to read and hasn't learned to sign since she's jealous of Holly.
