John Boy is only leaving home for less than 3 weeks after finding a room with a fellow student and working full time. Yet when he is packed to move to Westham the family acts like he's going to war. He even gets to visit on weekends.
Mr. Johnson calls his editorial piece the lead story in the paper, but when he hands the paper to John-Boy to read, the article is clearly below the fold. Also we can see the banner headline BUDGET HEARING SET on the front page above the fold, which would be the actual lead story.
The narrator in this episode states that the year is 1936 but the film that Ike and Cora Godsey were going to see was "One Hundred Men and a Girl", which was not released until 1937.
The printing press is much too large to fit through the door of the shed.
At the end when John-Boy reads the letter he forgets to put his glasses on.
