- Grandpa loses his will to live after a near fatal heart attack; the family takes desperate measures.
- Grandpa has a coronary; and although mild, it causes him to lose the will to live. As he begins to focus on how he feels physically, he suspects he may not make it through the scarring incident. Grandma on the other hand refuses to believe that he even needs the prescribed medication and begins living in denial. When things come to ahead with grandpa's request of John-Boy, it causes the family to rally around him using some rather unconventional methods in an effort to remind him he is stronger then the attack.—T Hardy
- Zeb suffers a mild heart attack, and takes to bed. A number of days pass, and his condition doesn't improve. He thinks he's going to die, and asks John Boy to pick him out a tombstone. The family decide to put a bed in an old circus tent (against doctors orders), and bring Zeb there, surrounded by the sights and sounds of Walton's Mountain, hoping it will improve his health. This episode really pulled at my heart strings. Zeb's attack affected all the family, understandably so, as the Walton's are a tight family unit. Esther can't seem to grasp the seriousness of his condition, and John Boy is horrified at the thought of being asked to pick his Grandpa's tomb stone, and at the thought of his Grandpa dying. I could sense the love they all felt for Zeb, and the emotions family members go through at the thought of losing someone very close. As tight families do, the Waltons rallied around Zeb, doing all they could to help him recover. A real bittersweet episode. One of the best so far.—Dougal
