She was just the barber's daughter
bkoganbing22 June 2020
This Wagon Train story concerns John McIntire meeting up with an old friend from his home town. Back in the day Jeannette Nolan was the town barber's daughter, but even then she had a talent for getting the male of the species to do as she wished. That includes all the rest of the cast regulars who just want to oblige the boss. The women on the Wagon Train want her off though.

Nolan has had an interesting past and that catches up with her as well.

Jeannette Nolan gets high marks for her performance as the lady who just wants to help,

Made Me Smile and Laugh

This might not have been the greatest one but I laughed and smiled through it. There was just this feeling of warmth throughout the scenes with John McIntire and Jeanette Nolan together. Their real life marriage must have been amazing with the banter in their communication exchanges seen here. From the beginning, when Christopher Hale says, "That voice! I know that woman's voice.", and makes those whimsically curios faces, I was cracking up. Later when Chotsie invites Chris into her wagon and he says in a happily curious way, "Why yes." before entering, it just seemed that their real love was emitted through my television. Then all the fist fights Chris Hale got into to defend this woman from his past that he loved, was chivalrous. Call me a hopeful romantic. The play between these two roles was romantic.

Horrible, just horrible....

The last few seasons of the show were terrible. This episode epitomized just how bad it became.... Trying to make Jeannette Nolan into a sex symbol was really pathetic....
