Frothy fun
pfors-647-50149722 May 2013
Drury takes it easy in pleasantly inconsequential outing. The prolific Richard L. Bare, who'd direct an amazing 166 episodes of "Green Acres," nudges this story in the same frothy direction. Blonde starlet Jeannine Riley is delightful as a fanciful, freight-hopping runaway. The worldly Virginian sizes up the little bum, gently needles her and shields her from harm. Karl Swenson, tongue firmly planted in cheek, plays a self-righteous crook named Karl Swenson (cue giggle), and Gary Clarke pokes adrenalin into his too-few scenes. Weary farm couple played by Crahan Denton and Ann Doran runs so counter to episode's light-hearted tone that they seem to have wandered onto the wrong set.

Run on the out of town bank
bkoganbing6 August 2020
Lawyer Russ Conway earns his fees when he withdraws Judge Garth's money frpm an out of town bank to the tune of $40,000.00 before a financial panic sets in and there's a run. But sheepherder Karl Swenson who got there before the bank closed figures part of that is his. He and his sons ain't taking no for an answer.

Anyway it's the problem of James Drury and Gary Clarke to get the Judge's money back to Medicine Bow and elude Swenson and his kids. Drury winds up hitching a ride on a freight train with fellow denizen of the rails Jeannne Riley. Kindly farm couple Stanford Jolley and Ann Doran give them some help.

This was a light and breezy episode and riley's free spirited character is quite captivating.
